Buckingham Properties is well known for adaptive reuse of existing buildings and repositioning their function. We see potential in abandoned, worn out buildings, and turn them into adaptive re-use projects like Buckingham Commons – the old ArtCraft Optical building on Allen Street. It should come as no surprise that when Buckingham first discussed relocating our corporate headquarters to Alexander Street, we immediately considered sustainability. A year or so later, we’ve settled into our renovated home in Alexander Park, a project which is anticipated to earn a LEED Silver designation. But it’s not the plaque on the wall that we’re excited about.
In our 7,500 square foot space, we’re enjoying a 50% savings in power costs from the solar panels on our roof. Our low flow toilets and sinks with aerators use less water each day. High-efficiency lighting will pay for itself within three years. Guests are delighted to hear our reception area and conference rooms feature reclaimed bowling alley wood from Olympic Bowl.

Recently, Buckingham worked closely with EarthLink from early planning stages and design through construction completion to deliver their 65,000 square foot state-of-the-art offices at the Alexander Park Campus. Our team worked to integrate their needs into the existing shell, which was in place at the time of site selection. Buckingham managed all aspects of construction, which was completed in just four months. After their ribbon-cutting, EarthLink leased an additional 6,000 square feet at Alexander Park, increasing their total occupancy to more than 71,000 square feet.

CEO & Managing Partner
Laurence C. Glazer co-founded Buckingham Properties in 1970 and today serves as CEO and Managing Partner of the Company. After earning a Master’s degree in Finance in 1969 from Columbia University, Larry sharpened his financial and analytical skills by creating and managing his own private hedge fund.
In 1971, Larry entered the private manufacturing industry and quickly became the CEO of Great Lakes Press, a major Rochester-based printing company. This experience provided Larry a first-hand understanding of the needs and concerns of the business owners who have become the core of Buckingham’s tenant-base.
The sale of the printing company in 1983 gave Larry the opportunity to focus his time and energy on developing his real estate portfolio. Buckingham Properties currently owns manages more than 50 properties totaling over 9 million square feet in the Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes region. Holdings include industrial, office, medical office, retail, residential and mixed use/flex space; and prime vacant land ready for new-build opportunities.
The combination of Larry’s financial, analytical and operational skills provides Buckingham Properties a CEO who is able to successfully lead the Company through the many opportunities and challenges encountered by a growing real estate development and management company. Buckingham has successfully taken on redevelopment challenges such as the ArtCraft Optical Building – now Buckingham Commons; the Michaels-Stern Building, the Bausch & Lomb Frame Center on Paul Road – now the Paul Road Business Center, and a host of others.
With an eye towards continued growth, Larry has accumulated a team of well-rounded professionals to manage the core components of Buckingham Properties consisting of finance, administration, leasing, marketing, operations, design and construction.
Larry is an active Board Member of ESL Federal Credit Union, Rochester Downtown Development Corporation, Monroe Community College, the Jewish Home of Rochester, Rochester District Heating Cooperative, Rochester Business Alliance and the WXXI Comprehensive Capital Campaign. He is a proponent of charitable giving and supports the community work of many human service and arts organizations. Larry spends some of his spare time on the ground – gardening around his house with his wife, Jane; and some in the sky – flying his plane. Larry serves as President of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association.
CFO & Partner
Daniel J. Goldstein, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer of Buckingham Properties and was named a Partner in the Company in 2007.
Dan studied accounting and finance at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, before returning to Rochester in 1993 to work as a Certified Public Accountant. He practiced public accounting in a regional accounting firm for eleven years, four of those years at the partner level, before being sought out by Larry Glazer in 2001 to join the growing team at Buckingham Properties.
Dan’s expertise in the areas of entity structures, accounting, taxation and finance provide Buckingham Properties with an experienced financial professional who is able to take charge of the financing and accounting challenges the company faces during a period of rapid growth. In addition to Dan’s financial oversight responsibilities, he also plays a key role in the evaluation and negotiation of acquisitions and sales, development projects and major leasing activity.
Dan is a member of the Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 class of 2009. Nominated by the community and selected by a committee of business leaders, the Forty Under 40 award recognizes 40 men and women, under the age of 40, who have achieved professional success and have also made significant civic contributions to the Rochester community.
Dan is involved in a number of community organizations and charities. He currently serves on the Finance Committee and the Executive Committee of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester; the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors of Temple Beth El; and the Community Relations Committee of the Jewish Federation of Rochester.
Dan enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, traveling and bike riding.

Rick serves as a Corporate Services Director for Buckingham Properties with a focus on retail and office space. Rich has been a part of the Buckingham team for ten years. He began his real estate career at CBRE/Rochester, NY in leasing. During his tenure with Buckingham Properties, Rick has worked with hundreds of Buckingham tenants, specializing in office and retail users. Rick, a Licensed Real Estate Broker, has been instrumental in leasing several of Buckingham’s newest developments, including Eagle’s Landing Business Park in Henrietta and Stoney Creek Business Center, Buckingham’s new complex in Greece which includes Bryant & Stratton’s new college campus. Rick earned an Associate Degree in Business from Champlain College.

Director of Leasing & Marketing
Joseph Rowley is Director of Leasing and Marketing for Buckingham Properties. A 27-year veteran of the commercial real estate market, he leads the leasing and marketing operation for over an 8.5 million square foot portfolio.
Previously, Joe was Vice President at CBRE/Rochester, NY, where he specialized in Industrial, Office and Investment Real Estate. His duties included Landlord/Owner Representation, Tenant/Buyer Representation, as well as consulting services. Prior to his tenure at CB, he owned JD ROCK Real Estate, a real estate brokerage company focused on all aspects of commercial real estate, including assemblage of multiple parcels for retail development, sales and leasing of existing real estate, and build-to-suit transactions.
Joe serves as immediate past president of the New York State Commercial Association of REALTORS® (NYSCAR) in 2012. He was NYSCAR State President from 2010 to 2011, and on various committees for the New York State Association of REALTORS® from 2006 – 2011. Joe is also a member of the Quarter Club of Rochester.
Richard I. Finley III, CPA joined Buckingham Properties in 2012. Rich brings over eight years of experience to the Buckingham Finance Department and Management Team. His responsibilities include budget development, preparation of financial statements and reports, and oversight of monthly closings for the Buckingham Properties portfolio. Rich is a SUNY Brockport graduate and Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Director of Operations
Harold Gavens, CPMM serves as Buckingham’s Director of Operations. Harold brings more than thirty years of experience in facilities engineering. He provides strategic leadership for Buckingham’s team of facilities personnel and manage operations Buckingham’s entire real estate portfolio. Harold holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Multidisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Business Management and a Master of Science degree in Professional Studies with concentrations in Facility Management and Project Management. He is a Certified Plant Maintenance Manager and a member of the Association of Facility Engineers.
Michelle Cook has over seven years of accounting experience. She oversees Buckingham’s accounting staff, prepares monthly closings and financial statements for over fifty entities, and assists Buckingham’s Controller. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Nazareth College of Rochester and is a Certified Public Account.
Amy joined Buckingham Properties in 2011 and serves as Marketing Manager. She is responsible for the development and execution of the company’s marketing initiatives and strategy. Amy earned a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from SUNY Fredonia.
Amy also serves as Marketing Director of Canstruction Rochester, a local design-build competition presented by Buckingham Properties involving giant sculptures of canned and packaged food.
Aaron Malbone, Buckingham Properties’ Construction Manager, joined the company in 2003. A degree in Architectural Engineering and experience as a construction estimator with an architectural/engineering firm provides the perfect background for his role in overseeing tenant construction and build outs.

Adam serves as a Leasing & Tenant Relations specialist for Buckingham’s commercial office properties. He has over five years of experience in real estate. He is a graduate of Butler University and is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.

Tom serves as a Leasing & Tenant Relations specialist for Buckingham Properties with a focus in industrial and warehouse facilities. Tom is known for being the “go to guy” with an approachable attitude and a commitment to meeting the needs of his tenants. He is experienced in working with clients to develop long-lasting partnerships.

Courtney joined Buckingham Properties in 2012 as a Leasing Agent specializing in Buckingham’s mixed-use portfolio. Courtney is responsible for the leasing of over 250 residential units as well as several office suites. She is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta and is an Accredited Residential Manager and Member of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Director of Safety
Chris joined Buckingham Properties in 1990, and serves as Director of Safety in addition to his duties as Property Manager. As Director of Safety, Chris maintains the health and safety program for Buckingham, including oversight of life safety inspections for a portfolio of over 40 properties. He will be responsible for the maintenance and compliance of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, emergency power and lighting systems and overall safety.
