This fascinating photo shows construction of the Midtown Garage in approximately 1960. This, three level, 1,843 space parking garage under Midtown Tower and plaza was truly revolutionary. Midtown Plaza opened on April 10, 1962. Early tenants, included B. Forman Co., McCurdy’s, Wegmans, Lincoln Rochester Bank (now Chase Bank), the United States Postal Service, Trailways, as well as several national and local chain stores.
