260 E Broad St. Named NYREJ ‘Property of the Month’

Buckingham Properties’ latest redevelopment, 260 E Broad St., was named NYREJ‘s Property of the Month in July 2022. The feature was a direct result of the building earning the top design award from the AIA Rochester’s 2022 Design Awards held on June 9th. Buckingham owns the building which was redeveloped in collaboration with Bergmann as architecture and engineering lead, and LeFrois as construction manager. The 107,000 SF mixed-use, five-story building features anchor tenant Butler/Till, 28 beautiful luxury residential apartments, and desirable ground floor retail space.

The project was no easy task with the consideration of building over Midtown Garage, an existing three-story underground parking garage which now has a direct elevator into the lobby of the space. Despite the project’s challenges, the team was able to push through and Buckingham could not be more proud of how the vision has come to life. Bergmann Project Manager Gary Flisnik expressed gratitude to the Buckingham team in the feature stating, “We are grateful to Buckingham Properties, specifically Ken Glazer and Aaron Malbone, for giving us this opportunity to help bring their vision for this marquee building to life.”

As a team with a passion and excitement for our community, the continued revitalization of downtown Rochester and surrounding areas is at the root everything we do. A building that others may look at as a lost cause, Buckingham views as an opportunity to transform it into something beautiful. In the NYREJ feature, Bergmann Senior Vice President Andrew Raus shared in Buckingham’s excitement at the resurgence of downtown Rochester stating, “260 E Broad St. is a prime example of how one project can play a part in the broader transformative vision unfolding unfolding in our community in a manner that will ensure for generations.”
