Buckingham Welcomes Human Resources Manager

Buckingham Properties is pleased to announce the recent hire of Sasha Okolo as Human Resources Manager. In this position, Sasha’s responsibilities include the administration of human resources plans and procedures for all Buckingham personnel, as well as policy implementation, recruitment, benefit administration, performance management, employee relations, and compensation.
Sasha brings five years of Human Resources experience to Buckingham. She holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Capella University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport. Sasha is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and is member of the Society for Human Resources Management, through which she is a Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).

On Friday, September 5th, Buckingham Properties suffered the loss of our founder and CEO, Larry Glazer, alongside his wife, Jane, in a tragic plane accident. The events of that day were followed all over the world, but nowhere more closely than in the Buckingham conference room. Our company continues to grieve as does the Glazer family, along with so many of our friends in the community. We wish to express our appreciation for the manner in which the community has responded to our loss. We have received an outpouring of support and assistance from our local, state and national politicians, both during and after the tragic events. We are just as appreciative of the manner in which our local press has written about both Larry and Jane in an effort to make sure that our community understands the incredibly generous and selfless people that they were and how much they cared about our community. Larry and Jane never stopped trying to make the world a better place. They did this genuinely and without asking for anything in return.
Larry Glazer built Buckingham Properties one brick at a time, over forty years. He taught himself how to take a building apart, and then how to put it back together to be stronger, more efficient and to last the test of time. Larry was forthright in his planning and made sure to build Buckingham Properties in just the same manner. Larry did this by creating multiple departments staffed with strong, experienced leaders responsible for establishing and managing each phase of the commercial real estate business, including development, property management, finance and leasing. Larry groomed three partners to help him lead Buckingham Properties; his sons Richard and Kenneth, and Daniel Goldstein, who previously served as Buckingham CFO for many years.
Buckingham Properties has been grieving privately since our tragic loss on Friday. We will need a period of time to continue to grieve as we get back to work. We are blessed to have long standing relationships with our partners, tenants, bankers and community leaders who have all reached out to us with friendship and support. We will soon be available to address the questions and concerns the community may have in regard to the successful completion of the many visible projects we are currently developing. Buckingham Properties, through its strong leadership team, is committed to fulfilling the legacy Larry Glazer began some forty years ago. We will do so one brick at a time in a manner that will continue to make our community, and Larry, proud.
Michelle Cook, CPA Promoted to Controller

Buckingham Properties is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Michelle Cook, CPA to Controller.
Michelle joined Buckingham Properties in July 2013, and has over eight years of accounting experience. As Controller, she will oversee Buckingham’s growing accounting team, provide accounting software administration, oversee payroll, and provide quarterly reporting and budgeting for over seventy financial entities.
Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Nazareth College of Rochester and is a Certified Public Account. She resides in Penfield.
Buckingham Welcomes New Accounting Staff

Buckingham Properties is pleased to announce the recent hires of Amy Purcell-Cosgrove and Philip Williams as Property Staff Accountants. They are responsible for general accounting and bank reconciliation for Buckingham’s real estate portfolio of over 70 entities.
Philip Williams holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from SUNY Geneseo. With over 22 years of experience, Phil previously worked for Burke Construction Group, Inc. as a project accountant. Phil resides in Canandaigua with his wife and three children.
Amy Purcell-Cosgrove holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from St. John Fisher College and an Associate’s Degree in Business from Monroe Community College. She previously worked for Windstream Communications as a tax accountant and has over ten years of experience. Amy is married and resides in Rochester.
